LHU to host external assessment of four undergraduate programmes against AUN-QA standards

Lac Hong University to host the 523rd external assessment of undergraduate programmes

From 9 to 11 June 2026, Lac Hong University will coordinate with the ASEAN University Network (AUN) to host the 523rd external assessment for four undergraduate programmes: Pharmacy, Business Administration, English Language, and Accounting. The event is an important part of the University’s ongoing strategy to assure and enhance education quality in line with regional and internationalstandards.

This assessment is a reassessment of four programmes previously evaluated by AUN-QA in 2021. Following the previous assessment, the relevant faculties reviewed the recommendations, developed improvement plans, and made adjustments to their curricula, teaching and learning methods, student assessment practices, student support services, and quality assurance conditions.

In 2024, Lac Hong University became the first university in Viet Nam and Southeast Asia to achieve AUN-QA institutional-level certification under Version 3.0. In 2023, the University completed the second cycle of institutional quality accreditation in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, further affirming its sustainable development and commitment to continuous quality improvement.

To date, Lac Hong University has 18 study programmes certified by AUN-QA, including 14 undergraduate programmes and 4 master’s programmes. In addition, two of the University’s programmes have been accredited by ABET, a reputable accreditation organization in engineering and technology.

Alongside its quality accreditation efforts, Lac Hong University has also placed strong emphasis on expanding international cooperation. In March 2025, the University signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Cintana Education and Arizona State University (ASU), United States. The agreement opens up opportunities for students and lecturers to access internationally benchmarked programmes, take part in academic exchange, transfer credits, and develop skills that meet the needs of the global labour market.

The organization of this external assessment is not only an important step in Lac Hong University’s quality accreditation roadmap, but also contributes to strengthening the University’s academic reputation in regional and international higher education. The assessment results will provide a basis for the University to continue improving its programmes, enhancing staff capacity, and better meeting the demand for high-quality human resources in the context of global integration.
