Industry Advisory Board (IAB 2026) Partners with the Faculty of Information Technology to Align Academic Training with Technological Practice

How can technology curricula stay ahead of industry trends?

This was the central question at the "Workshop on Learning Outcome Review and Curriculum Development," featuring the Industry Advisory Board (IAB), hosted by the Faculty of Information Technology at Lac Hong University on January 30, 2026. Through this workshop, the Faculty engaged directly with industry leaders and experts to update and refine training programs in accordance with the evolving demands of the labor market.

The 2026 IAB Workshop is an annual flagship event for the Faculty of Information Technology. It serves as a vital professional consultation channel between the university and the business sector, ensuring the strategic development of the curriculum.

The workshop was attended by University Board of Rectors, Faculty leaders, Department heads, and a wide range of industry representatives and experts. These professionals represent fields aligned with the Faculty's four current majors: Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, E-commerce, and Multimedia Communications.

In his opening speech, Dr. Huynh Cao Tuan, Vice Rector of Lac Hong University, emphasized the crucial role of businesses in partnering with the university to build curricula that mirror real-world needs. He reaffirmed the university's commitment to supporting the Faculty of Information Technology in strengthening industry connections, viewing this as a key solution to enhancing training quality and students' career adaptability.

During the session, representatives from the Faculty's departments presented their 2026 learning outcome reviews and curriculum update orientations. Key focuses included: Increasing practical course modules and industry-linked projects, integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital transformation and enhancing students' professional competencies and soft skills.

A significant point of discussion was the proposed launch of the Information Security major. The Faculty received valuable feedback from industry experts regarding human resource demand, skill standards, and training requirements for the cybersecurity sector in an era where data protection is increasingly paramount.

The discussion session was highly interactive, featuring insights from various organizations, including: Pouchen Vietnam Co., Ltd., C.P. Vietnam Corporation, TNJ Media Co., Ltd., VietProdev Software Co., Ltd., MEU Solutions Co., Ltd., Kenda Rubber (Vietnam) Co., Ltd., Hao Huan Technology Equipment Co., Ltd., Vietnam Digital Connection Software Technology Solutions (IOT Software), Dong A Media Software Co., Ltd., Hoang Gia Software Co., Ltd., Tin Viet Tien Technology Joint Stock Company, Techbase Vietnam, Kim Cang Co., Ltd., PMedia, Customs Branch Area XVIII. Industry representatives shared practical perspectives on required professional skills, foundational knowledge, product development mindsets, AI application and control, as well as awareness of information security, law, and professional ethics.

The Faculty of Information Technology has recorded and integrated these contributions from the IAB as a foundation for reviewing learning outcomes and refining curricula. The ultimate goal is to provide flexible, practice-based education that effectively meets social and market demands.

The 2026 IAB Workshop reaffirms the Faculty’s strategy of treating businesses as strategic partners. This collaboration ensures a high-quality academic environment that prepares students with the knowledge, skills, and professional awareness required for the modern workforce.
