Alumnus Huynh Minh Hien – A Son of the Central Region with Effort, Determination, and Aspiration for Success.

“Dear Central Region, scorched by burning sun and battered by endless floods, storms raging and roofs collapsing…”. The Central Region is not unfamiliar to us. Every Vietnamese can easily envision a land heavily affected by natural disasters, where from childhood to the end of one’s life, the word “poverty” seems ever-present. Each year, from approximately October to December, the Central Region must endure storms and floods, repeatedly submerged under harsh waters, exposed to scorching sunlight and the biting cold of the Lao wind. Year after year, after returning to the starting point, people strive to rebuild from the beginning.

The wrath of “Mother Nature” pours down upon the “children of the Central Region.” Perhaps geography itself has created hardship for the people of this land. Yet such difficulty and suffering have never subdued them; instead, they have forged resilient, persevering individuals with strong willpower. Moreover, we have witnessed the sacrifice and loss of many soldiers, police officers, and civilians who have forever been swept away by the floods of nature. Nevertheless, the Central Region is also home to many beautiful landscapes and tourist destinations that captivate the heart, and it is a land that has produced numerous talented individuals contributing to the country’s development.

Returning to Lac Hong University, located in the center of Bien Hoa City, up to 70% of its students come from the Central Region. This demonstrates the trust and appropriate choice of parents and students studying at the University.

Today, when mentioning the Central Region, mixed emotions arise. I recall an alumnus who studied Business Administration at Lac Hong University – Mr Huynh Minh Hien. Born and raised in Binh Son District, Quang Ngai Province, he has never claimed to be successful or exceptionally talented. However, through a spirit of self-study, a desire for growth, and the aspiration to contribute, he has overcome numerous difficulties and challenges.

Now an alumnus of the Faculty of Business Administration - International Economics, having graduated six years ago, he is currently working for Hoa Phat Group in the iron and steel manufacturing sector. His role involves production coordination at a workshop with more than 900 personnel. He continuously strives and devotes himself fully to his work. He shared that the job can be stressful, especially during the rainy season, when planning, managing, and coordinating production becomes more difficult, as raw materials may cause landslides affecting the health and safety of workers. At times when work does not proceed smoothly, he recalls his efforts during his student years and draws motivation from them.

As a student of Cohort 11, Class 11QT115, he actively participated in Youth Union – Student Association activities and made many positive contributions. During that time, he worked and studied with MB Huynh Thuc Hieu and Ms Khanh Van, which remain memorable experiences. He also conducted scientific research with the topic “Evaluating Enterprise Satisfaction with the Skills of Newly Graduated Non-public University Students in Dong Nai Province,” under the dedicated guidance and support of PhD candidate Luu Ngoc Liem. In addition, many other lecturers in the Faculty left lasting impressions on him, such as PhD Nguyen Van Dung, who once told his class, “Anyone who scores above 7 in my subject is good,” motivating the entire class to strive for that mark; and PhD Nguyen Van Tan, whose Project Management course was extremely engaging and profound. After graduating in 2015, he completed his internship in Binh Duong, then worked and traveled across different places facing various difficulties and challenges before eventually returning to his hometown to work. Those years brought both joy and sorrow, but through determination, a progressive mindset, and aspiration for success, he overcame all obstacles.

Now enjoying happiness with his small family, commuting 10 kilometers to work each day and returning home after dark, his days pass steadily. His ambitions continue to grow stronger, along with an increasing desire for greater success and overcoming all challenges. Once his work is stable, he hopes to return to Bien Hoa to visit the University, friends, and lecturers—the place that supported and accompanied him throughout his university journey. Wishing him continued success, joy, and happiness. May he always believe in his own effort and determination, turning difficulties into stepping stones.

Dear students, regardless of where we are born or from which region—Central, Southern, or Northern—always strive, persevere, and develop yourselves. Wishing you success on the path you have chosen.
