    PhD Nguyen Van Tan Honored to Receive a Certificate from the Ministry of Education and Training for the Automov Startup Project.

    Entrepreneurship has long been one of the key focuses in educational and training activities at Lac Hong University. Recently, the Automov project – a wheelchair support device developed by a group of students from the Faculty of Mechatronics and Electronics, under the dedicated guidance of PhD Nguyen Van Tan – won Second Prize nationwide in the student category at the 4th “Students with Startup Ideas” competition organized by the Ministry of Education and Training.

    The 4th “Students with Startup Ideas” competition was open to university students, pedagogical college students, and high school students nationwide. The Organizing Committee received more than 400 entries from both the student and pupil categories. A notable strength of this year’s competition was that all participating projects demonstrated novelty, creativity, and professionalism. Many projects had been commercialized from student scientific research results.

    PhD Nguyen Van Tan – Head of the Faculty of Business Administration – International Economics, Lac Hong University – is a leading expert and mentor in the field of entrepreneurship and innovation. He currently holds the following positions:

    • Member of the National Innovative Startup Advisory Council (VSMA);

    • Member of the Executive Committee of the Southern Region Startup Advisory and Support Council;

    • Member of the Coordination and Support Council for the Innovative Startup Ecosystem of Dong Nai Province;

    • Member of the Dong Nai Women’s Entrepreneurship Club;

    • Head of the Innovative Startup Division, LHU;

    • Lecturer of the Vietnam Women Entrepreneurs Council (VWEC);

    • Lecturer in entrepreneurship programs such as SIYB, CEFE, ACSE, IPP, MEP.

    From the very beginning, recognizing the great potential of the AUTOMOV project, PhD Nguyen Van Tan proactively proposed and encouraged the student team to pursue the project with greater ambition. After overcoming numerous difficulties and challenges, the project achieved significant accomplishments, including:

    • First Prize in the Engineering Projects in Community Service (EPICS) Competition 2021;

    • First Prize in the CIC Startup Ideas Competition 2021;

    • Top 10 of the “National Startup” Program 2021;

    • Second Prize in the 4th “Students with Startup Ideas” Competition.

    The project’s success stems from the relentless efforts of the student team implementing it. In addition, it is the result of the proper guidance and strategic vision provided by dedicated lecturers and mentors at Lac Hong University.

    It is often said that the entrepreneurial journey begins in the dark, requiring individuals to find their way step by step. However, within the entrepreneurial ecosystem at Lac Hong University, students never have to navigate that darkness alone. There are always lecturers ready to accompany them, lighting the torch so they can confidently continue their entrepreneurial journey and reach new heights in the future.
