“On my first day at university, I was nervous and anxious as if I were taking the university entrance exam for the second time!” – that is the heartfelt sharing of many first-year Economic Law students at the Faculty of Business Administration - International Economics, Lac Hong University when asked about their first days in the lecture hall.
After 12 years of studying in general education, transitioning to the university environment is a new journey—exciting yet filled with unfamiliar challenges. It is precisely these first-year experiences that leave unforgettable impressions on the youth of every student at LHU, especially for Economic Law students of the Faculty of Business Administration - International Economics.
Pham Thi Yen Nhi (first-year student, Economic Law) shared:
“On the first day of class, I thought it would be similar to high school. But when I entered the lecture hall with my classmates, listened to the lecturers’ teaching and program introduction, I realized that university was completely different from what I had imagined! Fortunately, the subject lecturers and my class academic advisor were very enthusiastic in guiding and orienting us toward suitable study methods. I also joined the Economic Law Club – a place that connects members and students of the program, helping me quickly integrate into the new dynamic and enthusiastic environment. I even learned some ‘survival tips’ for the first courses from senior students (laughs).”
From the first semester, Economic Law students are introduced to important foundational courses such as Theory of State and Law, Economics, along with political theory courses that serve as the foundation for approaching major and specialized subjects. In addition, the University, the Faculty, and the program organize career orientation talk shows, welcome activities for new students, field visits to courts from the first year to gain insight into future working environments, and various extracurricular activities to help students quickly adapt.
Beyond academic knowledge, the first year in the Law program at LHU is also a time for students to:
Connect with friends from different regions and build study groups and interest-based clubs.
Participate in vibrant student activities such as cultural performances, sports, and volunteer work to develop soft skills.
Become familiar with active learning methods: self-researching materials, delivering group presentations, and engaging in classroom discussions.
“Thanks to participating in various seminars with diverse topics and formats organized by the Law program, the Faculty of Business Administration - International Economics, and the University, I have become much more confident and discovered my passion for the learning environment. This makes me feel that choosing the Law program was truly the right decision. Moreover, when participating in the ‘Opinion Arena’ competition organized by the Law Club, I also discovered my talent for video production and public speaking.” – Sao Mai, a first-year student, shared.
With the dedicated support of lecturers, classmates, and the dynamic learning environment at Lac Hong University, the first year becomes a meaningful period for students to discover themselves, adapt to student life, and build a solid foundation for the following years.
If you are considering a program that helps you understand both the law and yourself, choose the Economic Law program at LHU to begin a truly memorable university journey!
