Strengthening Industry Engagement in Logistics and Supply Chain Management Education at Lac Hong University

Amid the rapid development of the global logistics and supply chain industry, designing academic programs that closely align with industry needs has become an essential requirement for higher education institutions. In response to this demand, on March 21, 2026, the Faculty of Finance and Accounting, Lac Hong University, organized a workshop to collect feedback on developing learning outcomes for the Logistics and Supply Chain Management program at Campus 1 of the University.

The workshop was conducted with the objective of refining and finalizing the program learning outcomes for the 2026–2030 training period, ensuring that graduates are equipped with the competencies required to meet the increasingly demanding expectations of the labor market.

The event attracted broad participation from key stakeholders, including the University’s Board of Management, the Academic Affairs Office, faculty members, industry experts, business representatives, alumni, and current students. These stakeholders, who are directly involved in both education and workforce utilization, contributed diverse and practical perspectives to the development of the learning outcomes.

During the workshop, program representatives presented the orientation for developing learning outcomes, focusing on core competencies such as disciplinary knowledge, professional skills, technological proficiency, and adaptability in international logistics environments. The discussion session was highly interactive, with valuable contributions from industry representatives and alumni, particularly emphasizing the importance of practical skills, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to work effectively in multicultural and multinational contexts.

These inputs serve as a critical foundation for the Faculty to further refine its curriculum in a manner that is closely aligned with industry practices, enhances experiential learning opportunities, and strengthens students’ capacity for international integration.

In the concluding remarks, the leadership of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting highlighted that the development of relevant and practice-oriented learning outcomes is not only an academic requirement but also a strategic approach to improving educational quality and enhancing graduates’ competitiveness in both domestic and international labor markets.

Through this initiative, Lac Hong University continues to reaffirm its educational orientation toward industry engagement, practice-based learning, and international integration, while fostering a dynamic and modern learning environment for students. This also represents a key highlight in attracting prospective students, particularly as Logistics and Supply Chain Management emerges as a field with high workforce demand and significant career opportunities in the context of global economic integration.
